As a Data Analist and PhD Candidate at the Data-Driven Decision Making (D3M) research institute at Maastricht University, Eric aims to bridge the gap between data analytics and macroeconomic modelling. By using novel data sources such as corporate websites, he intends to enhance the current practices of measuring economic indicators which often rely on time- and cost-intensive means such as surveys. The goal is to provide economic decision-makers including managers and policymakers with more timely and valuable information and, hence, improve their decision-making processes.
