Martin Hoesli is Professor of Real Estate Finance at the University of Geneva (Geneva Finance Research Instituteand Swiss Finance Institute) and Professor of Finance at the University of Aberdeen Business School (Great Britain).

Member of the Board of Directors of AZEK, the Swiss Training Centre for Investment Professionals, and President of the Examination Commission of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association (SFAA).

Fellow of the Weimer School of Advanced Studies in Real Estate and Land Economics, and of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.Board Member and Past president of the International Real Estate Society (IRES) and of the European Real Estate Society (ERES).

Recipient of the IRES Achievement Award (2007) and of the Nick Tyrrell Research Prize (2012).

Editorial Board Member of the International Real Estate Review, Journal of European Real Estate Research, Journal of Property Research, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management and Journal of Real Estate Research.

His research interests are optimal portfolio construction with real estate, index construction, and housing economics.
